PET scans and PRESENTS!!

Had my PET scan bright and early this morning at 07:45. They put in a 22 gauge IV. (That gave me a laugh. Such a small needle!) then they injected me with some radioactive dye in sugar water. I guess cancer likes sugar or some science crap. Then I had to chill for an hour while the cancer lit up like a Christmas tree by eating the sugar. I actually brought a blanket and pillow and fell in and out of a light slumber. The scan itself took maybe ten minutes. Much like a CT scan. I’ll get those results Thursday at my first oncology appointment.

I was pretty tired still when I got home. Still getting tons of calls about having things to set up and I just get sick of hearing about cancer. I had enough so I put on Hawaii life and took a nap. I awoke to PRESENTS!!

Today I got some beautiful flowers from one of the greyhound girl gang members. I know these women well and know they were jumping at the gun to do something nice. I asked them to spread it out over my treatment and help ensure I always have flowers at the house. It reminds me of them and gives me so much strength and joy!

My sister Anne also sent me some hats from her favorite surgical hat company. Here we are showing them off. She was quick to correct how we were wearing them wrong ??
